The family Verduyn is in the shoebusiness since the 19th century. In 1919 Arthur Verduyn (father of Luc Verduyn) expanded already for the first time the store in the little St-John street. Unfortunately this store was demolished because of the new mall in the heart of Kortrijk. Shoes Verduyn started small but grew out to be the company like it is today.
Meanwhile the fourth generation is managing Verduyn. Together with a strong team they keep on building on Shoes Verduyn.
History in Time
Around 1890 the couple Henri Verduyn-Fremault started the business, a shop selling clogs, in the Sioenstreet, nr 28 in Kortrijk. In that time they didn't know they were the start of a long family tradition.
1919 Expansion in the little St John street in Kortrijk
1928 Opening of the current main store in the Long Stonestreet 24 in Kortrijk
1950 When Arthur Verduyn passed away in 1950, his widow Julia Devos had to take care of the business by herself. The couple had 12 children.
2009 Big transformation of the main store in the Long Stone street. A store with no comparison.
